	Julie Smith
	Director of Human Resources
	Smith earned a bachelor's degree from Auburn University with a concentration in human resources management and a master's degree in business administration from Jacksonville State University. She worked at HealthSouth Gadsden from 2001-2005 and joined HealthSouth Lakeshore in 2010.

	James "Jimmy" Reed

	Jimmy began his career at HealthSouth Lakeshore in 1989 and was named director of plant operations in 2010. He has more than 26 years experience as an electrician and an extensive background in maintenance, building automation, and technical and hazardous waste.

	Adam Head
	Chief Operating Officer
	Adam joined HealthSouth Lakeshore as Chief Operating Officer in 2011. Prior to joining the team at Lakeshore, he served as assistant administrator of Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. He also previously served as a Medical Service Corps officer in the U.S. Army in multiple capacities at Fort Benning, Ga., including Company Commander of Martin Army Community Hospital. Adam received a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Arkansas and a MBA from Capella University.

	Cynthia Y.B. Johnson, RN, MSN

	Cynthia began her career at Lakeshore in 2008 as charge nurse on the spinal cord unit. Shortly thereafter, she accepted the position as director of infection control/employee health before being promoted to director of quality and risk in 2010. Cynthia received her nursing degree at University of Alabama at Birmingham. While at Lakeshore she also received a master's degree in nursing and health systems administration and a second master's degree in nursing informatics at University of Alabama at Birmingham.

	Terry Brown
	CEO
	Terry holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan-based Wayne State University. He received a degree in physical therapy from New York University and an MBA from Tennessee State University. He served as director of physical therapy at hospitals in Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee before joining HealthSouth Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital as director of physical therapy in 1986. Terry has served as Lakeshore’s CEO since 1995 and has been with Lakeshore since 1986.

Dr. Paula Stewart

Medical Director

Dr. Paula Stewart received her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Stanford University. She attended the University of Minnesota Medical School, and completed her residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic. She was a staff physician at Charlotte Institute of Rehabilitation, where she served as director of research, director of cancer rehabilitation services, and director of the lymphedema clinic. Dr. Stewart is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and in the subspecialty of spinal cord medicine. She has been with Lakeshore since 2002.

	Paula Williams-Canant, CRRN, CCM

	Paula received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Troy State University and is also a certified rehabilitation nurse and certified case manager. She has been with Lakeshore since 1988 and was named director of case management in 2011.

Kathy McKerley, RN,

DMO

Kathy received her nursing degree from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte, N.C., and is a certified case manager. She has been at HealthSouth Lakeshore since 1996 and has served as the director of marketing and case management since 1998.

	Noelle Ward, OT
	Director Of Therapy Operations
	Noelle has been at HealthSouth Lakeshore since 2004. She served as senior occupational therapist before being named director of therapy operations. She has implemented numerous programs to improve patient care at Lakeshore and was voted 2005 Therapist of the Year. Noelle has a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
