As a leading provider of high-quality rehabilitation services for almost 40 years, HealthSouth Lakeshore is a 100-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient as well as outpatient rehabilitation services designed to return patients to leading active and independent lives. 

Our hospital provides a wide range of physical rehabilitation services, a network of highly skilled, independent private practice physicians and HealthSouth therapists and nurses, and the most innovative equipment and rehabilitation technology, ensuring that all patients have access to the highest quality care. 

Designed with our patient’s care in mind, HealthSouth Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital offers 20 private rooms and 80 semi private rooms all with wireless internet capabilities, televisions and telephones, several outdoor patio areas, and convenient free parking.

In addition to caring for general rehabilitation diagnoses such as orthopedics, (including fractured hip)  cardiac, pulmonary, amputation, multiple trauma, arthritis and neurological disorders (Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barre), HealthSouth Lakeshore Rehabilitation Hospital has specialized inpatient programs for stroke, brain injury and spinal cord injury.  Other services offered include outpatient rehabilitation with specialized programs for lymphedema as well as aquatic therapy.

This 132,534-square-foot hospital serves patients throughout north central and central Alabama including Jefferson, Shelby, Chilton, Walker, Cullman, and St. Clair counties and is located at 3800 Ridgeway Drive in Homewood, Alabama. Click here for a map and contact information on our location.

We strive to make payment procedures as easy as possible. Facility personnel are available to meet with patients, families or other responsible parties to discuss billing procedures and requirements prior to admission. Lakeshore will verify your insurance coverage prior to admission and file an insurance claim for your stay as a courtesy.

Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. The hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies as needed.
